Because David Lynch is still top-of-mind for me tonight: the closing credits for Inland Empire.
This sequence is probably his finest work. And it’s tough to argue with Nina Simone.
(It’s tough to argue with Helen Mirren, too. But The Academy didn’t even give Laura Dern so much as a nod for Best Actress on this one? That’s garbage.)
